Start with the problem, not the product
If Trainerize already does most of what you need, switching platforms has a real migration cost. A useful alternative should solve a specific constraint strongly enough to justify moving clients, programs and workflows.
Quick answer: which alternatives should you investigate?
Don't know which reason matters most?
Answer 8 questions about your coaching model, active clients, must-have features and budget. TransparentSoft scores Trainerize and seven alternatives using the same rules.
Find my best-fit alternatives →If Trainerize becomes expensive as your client list grows
Do not compare alternatives using only their lowest advertised price. Client allowances differ dramatically. Everfit, for example, publishes a permanent free tier for up to five clients and granular Pro tiers as the roster grows. Kahunas publishes Essentials for up to 25 clients, Growth for up to 50 and Ultimate with unlimited clients. PTminder starts much higher but its entry tier covers up to 50 clients.
Investigate Everfit and Kahunas first when roster economics are the main reason for switching. But price the features you actually require: nutrition, automation, payments, booking or branding can alter the effective monthly cost.
If you want a simpler, workout-first coaching workflow
Trainerize has grown into a broad coaching ecosystem. That breadth is valuable when you use it, but some coaches primarily want to create programs, deliver workouts, message clients and track progress.
Investigate TrueCoach first for a workout-focused alternative. Its public plans are structured around client capacity, with Starter, Standard and Pro tiers. This is especially relevant when your service is centered on programming rather than booking or studio administration.
If branding and customization are the problem
A branded client experience can matter when the software is part of what your customers perceive as your service. But “branding” can mean anything from colors and logos to a genuinely custom-branded app, and those are not equivalent.
Investigate PT Distinction and My PT Hub when branding is a hard requirement. Compare exactly what is included in the relevant tier and what is an additional branded-app or white-label charge rather than assuming the base subscription covers it.
If you need booking, payments and business management
If the problem is not workout delivery but running appointments, taking payments and managing the business, the comparison changes substantially.
Investigate PTminder for a trainer-oriented business-management alternative. If you operate a physical studio with staff, classes and location-level operations, Mindbody may be a more appropriate category of product entirely. It is not a direct workout-programming substitute for Trainerize; it solves a different operational problem.
If you need nutrition and habit coaching
Nutrition is an area where feature checklists can be misleading. Trainerize offers basic nutrition capabilities and an Advanced Nutrition Coaching add-on on eligible plans. Other coaching platforms also vary between meal tracking, habits, meal plans and deeper nutrition workflows.
Use nutrition as a must-have rather than a tie-breaker if it is part of the service clients pay you for. Everfit, PT Distinction and My PT Hub are worth comparing, but the right choice depends on the exact nutrition workflow rather than the word “nutrition” appearing on a feature list.
If you have 50+ active clients
At larger rosters, small differences in starting price stop being useful. Client limits, team access, automation and administrative workload matter more. PTminder's public pricing starts with a relatively large 50-client allowance, Everfit publishes multiple higher-capacity tiers, and Kahunas' top plan advertises unlimited clients.
At this point, also ask whether you are still buying personal trainer software or whether your operation now needs studio/team software. That distinction can change the shortlist.

Compare the alternatives for your business
The Finder evaluates coaching mode, client count, workouts, nutrition, messaging, progress, group coaching, CRM, booking, payments, branding, budget and your main priority.
Run the Personal Trainer Software Finder →When you should stay with Trainerize
An alternatives page should also say when switching is unnecessary. If Trainerize already fits your required workflow, its price is acceptable at your roster size and the missing features are not business-critical, migration may create more work than value. The goal is not to switch software; it is to remove a meaningful constraint.
How TransparentSoft evaluates alternatives
Products are compared using the same deterministic fit rules regardless of affiliate relationships. A missing must-have can heavily penalize or disqualify a product; client count and budget determine which tier is relevant; and priorities such as lowest price, client experience, automation, all-in-one capability and customization break close matches.
